Working out a Course Handicap (WHS)

The Course Handicap calculation is:-

Gents Example – 15.4 Handicap Index – Playing 18 holes from White Tees at Stanton on the Wolds.
15.4 x (138 / 113) + (71.9 - 73 ) = 17.70 – which you would round up to a Course Handicap of 18.

Ladies Example10.7 Handicap Index – Playing 18 holes from Red Tees at Stanton on the Wolds.
10.7 x (134 / 113) + (73.5 - 73)  = 13.18 – which you would round to a Course Handicap of 13.

However, if you find this calculation too challenging, there is an easier way........

Using the Gents / Ladies Course Handicap tables  (shown below)
  • Using one of the buttons in the grid, view/download your Course Handicap table : (Gents / Ladies18 / F9 B9)
  • Decide which set of Tees you will be playing from.
  • Select the pair of columns in the table that correspond to this choice.
  • Within this pair of columns, find the range containing your Handicap Index® in the left column, and use the Course Handicap™ which corresponds to it in the right column of this pair to calculate your Playing Handicap according to the format of the game you are playing.
  • Please make sure that the Tees from which you are playing correspond with the Tees for which this table applies.

Your Handicap Index should be accessible from the Members' ClubV1 Hub and also obtainable using the EG APP which can be downloaded from the APPLE APP Store or PLAY STORE for Android devices.
